0832.6 London in the 1870s

Tuesday 11 November 6.30pm

The monuments of the 1870s are all around us in London. Some are celebrated, such as the Queen Anne houses of Kensington, Hampstead and Chelsea, or the Board Schools, others have been somewhat neglected by historians, such as the rich variety of churches in the newly expanding suburbs. Our speaker, Andrew Saint is the General Editor of The Survey of London.

Lectures usually last about an hour and take place at the Art Workers’ Guild, 6 Queen Square, London WC1 at 6.30pm. Doors open at 6pm.  Wine will be available before the lectures (not included in ticket prices). The venue is conveniently placed for Holborn and Russell Square Tube stations and numerous bus services. Tickets £10 on the door, or much cheaper if you book.
