Churches by GE Street

George Edmund Street (1824-81) was beyond doubt one of the greatest architects of the 19th century, not just in Britain, but in Europe

Street designed or directed works to 113 churches in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. Sir Arthur Blomfield - another great church architect - claimed that Street was ‘universally admitted to be the first architect of the day.'

The Victorian Society has published a short guide to share GE's Street extraordinary work with those who care for and/or enjoy his contribution to churches including a full list of those churches in the Oxford Diocese.  Read more
