10.30am to about 4pm. Peter Howell leads a tour of four churches within walking distance of each other.

We go first to St Barnabas, Pimlico by Thomas Cundy with work by Pugin, Butterfield, Bodley, Comper and others. Then St Mary’s, Bourne Street, by RJ Withers, enlarged by Goodhart-Rendel, and with lavish Anglo-Catholic furnishings. The fittings of Holy Trinity, Sloane Street, by JD Sedding include those by Burne-Jones and Morris, Henry Wilson, Christopher Whall, and WB Richmond. St Mary’s, Cadogan Street, was the first complete church built by JF Bentley. Meet at Sloane Square station. Lunch not provided. There are lots of eating places in the area. £16. Booking required.*
