Pub crawl of Cricklewood and Kilburn

Monday 5 March — Sold out
6.30pm to about 8.30pm. Led by Geoff Brandwood, we take in three pubs with historic interiors from the golden age of pub building around 1900. All (inevitably) have been somewhat altered but we can still get a good impression of the sheer richness of pub fitting-out a century or so ago.

We start at the very grand Clayton Crown Hotel (1899-1900 by Shoebridge & Rising) then take a bus to the North London Tavern and the Black Lion in Kilburn which has some particularly fine decorative work. Both the start and end pubs have eating facilties and there are many other food options in their vicinities. After the Black Lion you can escape variously by Overground, tube and bus. Meet at the Clayton Crown, 142-152 Cricklewood Broadway, London NW2 3ED. Rail: Cricklewood. There are trains to Cricklewood every 15 minutes from St Pancras. £11. Booking required.*
