Rare water-powered lift at risk

Thursday 9 April 2009: An historic seaside lift is facing an uncertain future after the local authority which operates it decided to end its lease. The Leas Lift in Folkestone in Kent is one of only three Victorian cliff lifts still powered simply by water and gravity.

Listing request for Sussex school

Wednesday 1 April 2009: The Victorian Society has asked English Heritage to recognise Wadhurst College in East Sussex as a building of national importance.
