Appeal to Mayor to save Piccadilly buildings from demolition
Monday 24 August 2009: The Victorian Society has written to urge Boris Johnson to overrule a planning decision which allows for the demolition of eight historic buildings in the heart of London.
11th hour reprieve for the Sale Hotel
Wednesday 12 August 2009: A Building Preservation Notice has been place on the threatened Sale Hotel in Greater Manchester. The last minute decision was taken by Trafford council after a demolition contractor put up barriers around the building and cut off essential services.
New approach needed for listed London school
Wednesday 12 August 2009: The Victorian Society is calling on Lewisham Borough Council to completely rethink its plans for Lewisham Bridge Primary School following a decision by ministers to uphold the buildings Grade II-listed status.
