Outstanding Yorkshire church at risk from damaging development
Wednesday 17 March: The setting of Harrogate's only Grade I-listed building could be irreparably damaged if plans to build a large electricity substation in its grounds are given the go-ahead.
Saving a Century opens in Oxford
Monday 15 March: A travelling photographic exhibition which celebrates 50 years of the Victorian Society has now opened at Oxford Central Library. It will be on show in the Oxfordshire Studies section of the library until 23 April.
Fire damaged hotel needs urgent repairs
Wednesday 10 March: Firefighters tackling a major fire at the Tudor Hotel in Malvern were forced to break windows and make holes in the roof. The Victorian Society is now calling for urgent repairs to be carried out to protect this listed building from further damage.
Battersea Power Station plans threaten hidden industrial gem
Wednesday 3 March: The Victorian Society is opposing plans to knock down one of the oldest surviving water pumping stations in the country. The pumping station, built in 1840, is little known as it lies hidden away and largely forgotten next to Battersea Power Station on the south bank of the Thames.
