19th January 1967 – Birmingham Group Formed
2000 – Creation of the Mary Heath Trust which was set up under the will of the late Mary Heath, who left her entire estate to the Victorian Society for the benefit of the Birmingham & West Midlands group. The house contents were sold in late 1996 and the four houses situated in Ryland Rd, Edgbaston were sold in late 2000.
The Trust has provided grants towards the publication of the revised Pevsner Guide for Birmingham. The Trust has also contributed to the National Trust’s refurbishment of the “Back to Backs”, George Noszlopy’s Birmingham Sculpture Trail book and Anthony Peers’ book on Birmingham Town Hall, as well as a grant to Hockley Heath Baptist Church. The Trust also underwrote the publication of Birmingham’s Victorian & Edwardian Architects book.
2003 - funding of the salary and expenses of a caseworker dedicated to the Birmingham & West Midlands
4th May 2004 – Grand Hotel Listed at Grade II*
26th September 2009 – Birmingham’s Victorian & Edwardian Architects Book launched
11th February 2015 – Conservation Award inaugurated
10th February 2016 – 2015 Conservation Award won by Hortons’ Estate Ltd
