1922 Cambridge: the refurbished David Parr House and a walk

Wednesday 25 September 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Price for single attendee: £65.00

Led by Michael Hall. Members visited the David Parr House prior to conservation. In 2017/2018, with the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund and other funders, the house underwent a full programme of conservation and restoration work and has
recently reopened. On our visit the custodian will guide us in small groups around the house. The house is now fully booked for private
guided tours through 2019/2020 so this is a unique opportunity to see it. Buy your own lunch after the visit. In the afternoon Michael
Hall will lead you to various sites in the city associated with FR Leach (1837-1904), master decorator and painter but also having Bodley or Morris connections. This will include All Saints’, Jesus Lane, Jesus College chapel, St Botolph, Michaelhouse and Queen’s College, all subject to access, weddings, funerals, etc. Limited numbers. The 08.42 train from London Kings Cross arrives at Cambridge railway station at 09:30 but check. Meet outside 186 Gwydir Street, Cambridge CB1 2LW. £65 including light refreshments at David Parr House. Booking required.*
