The Society was founded in 1958 by volunteers who ran and governed it – and the voluntary tradition continues today. From our Board of Trustees to the Casework Committees that support our paid staff, volunteers digitise our photographs, help with social media, run events, research threatened buildings, and run our Regional Groups, we value all our volunteers’ input.
