The spring edition of The Victorian focusses on historic Victorian and Edwardian theatres, and the threats they face.

Read about past and present campaigns to save historic entertainment venues, including a piece by Griff Rhys Jones, President of the Society, about his work on the Hackney Empire.

The magazine also features news and editorial on architecture and social history from the Victorian era, and the society’s fight to save our Victorian and Edwardian heritage.

Jon Newman considers how London shaped John Ruskin’s attitudes and ideas, and Tony Wolfenden writes about Windleshaw House, the Arts and Crafts masterpiece in Sussex that was recently listed after a campaign by the Society.

The magazine goes out to all our members three times a year, and new members will receive a welcome copy when they sign up.

Joining the Society supports the fight to save our historic Victorian and Edwardian architecture.
