Could you be our next Chair of the Board of Trustees?

This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented individual who is enthusiastic about Victorian and Edwardian architecture.

The Victorian Society has an enviable reputation for the depth of its knowledge of Victorian and Edwardian architecture, and for its skill in advising how such buildings may be adapted to current needs without losing what is special about them. We were founded over sixty years ago and you will need to make sure that we are well equipped for the next sixty.

We are keen to hear from people with experience in:

  • – governance
  • – advocacy
  • – fundraising, or
  • – delivering growth and managing change in an organisation

Currently the board meets six times a year: twice on Saturdays at our Headquarters in West London, and 4 online evening meetings. We also have an AGM (Annual General Meeting) weekend at various locations around England and Wales. The chair currently meets the Director on a fortnightly basis and undertakes other meetings as required. The role is unsalaried.

Please send a CV and an expression of interest to [email protected] setting out why you meet the person specification – read here.

Closing date 19th May 2023.
