The Victorian Society is very pleased to announce James Hughes as its new Director.
Professor Hilary Grainger, Chair of the Society said:
‘The Board of Trustees of the Victorian Society is delighted to announce that James Hughes is to be its new Director. James joined the Society in 2011 as a Conservation Adviser and from 2015 has had overall responsibility for the Society’s casework as the Senior Conservation Advisor. James brings a wealth of expertise to the role and the Board looks forward to working with him in furthering the success of the Society.’
James Hughes, the Society’s new Director said:
‘Working for the Society over the past twelve years has been very much a labour of love. I am, therefore, absolutely thrilled to be taking on the leadership of the organisation, particularly at such an exciting time of institutional change and development. The Society inevitably faces many challenges, but opportunities abound, and I look forward to focussing my energies on expanding the reach of the Society and building on its vital work.’
James Hughes takes over as Director of the Victorian Society from Joe O’Donnell who led the Society until February 2024.
