The Victorian Society is delighted to welcome Marie Clements as Communications and Media Manager. Marie has previously worked exclusively delivering media and marketing campaigns for arts, creative industries, cultural clients and organisations. She was Press and PR Manager for the Design Museum at Shad Thames. She has worked in the press offices of the Royal Institute of British Architects and The Barbican Art Gallery. Marie ran the press and communications in the UK for the UN International Year of Biodiversity and has worked on media for The London Design Festival. At the Millennium, Marie was Head of Press for The Year of the Artist for the Arts Council of England and the 10 Regional Arts Boards, an advocacy campaign that placed artists and creatives in 1000 unusual places. She has also worked on multi-cultural, multi-arts festivals including the Festivals of India’s South, Bangladesh, Yemen and Vietnam, as well as Africa95, the then largest celebration of the arts of Africa.

The Victorian Society Director, Joe O’Donnell said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Marie to the team. Her breadth of experience means that we will be well placed to maximise the public attention that the Society needs to focus on its campaigns and to attract new members who want to help us save our Victorian and Edwardian heritage from destruction or disfigurement.’
