Events Co-ordinator

Part time 2 days a week

Salary band £24k–29k pro rata

Why not work for the only charity dedicated to fighting to protect our Victorian and Edwardian heritage?

The Victorian Society is looking for a highly organised and dynamic part-time Events Co-ordinator to build on our successful development of online events and help us deliver our exciting programme of talks, study days, visits, walks and more. We are especially keen to hear from those with experience in organising and promoting online events.

Our events programme is central to the Society’s success – entertaining members and educating the public about our cause.

Could you lead the outward face of the Society, generate enthusiasm for the cause through events and activities, and reach the parts other societies cannot reach? This role would be perfect for someone with an interest in heritage and architecture who is looking to make the role really their own.

Key skills

  • Highly organised and able to keep ‘on top of’ many events
  • Demonstrable track record in successfully using Eventbrite and Zoom webinar in a professional capacity.
  • Computer literate
  • Able to use a CRM (Beacon) to update with events information
  • Expertise in advertising events online: e.g. google adwords, facebook, Instagram Twitter.
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with event attendees
  • Able to deal with unpaid volunteers politely, calmly and persuasively, bearing in mind that the Society is reliant on their hard work and that they are not employees

The Victorian Society is run by its Board of Trustees elected by members and overseen day to day by its Director.

For full details please see the attached job description. We would be open to discussion as to how the 2 days would be split across the week.

To apply please send a CV and covering letter addressing why you meet the job description to the Director by 9am Monday 28th February 2022.

Interviews will be held at the The Victorian Society offices on 4th March
